Amigo, o mesmo na criação deste bg utilizou o modo que utiliza várias renders, e efeitos em C4D/Nebulas e fez o tratamento com alguns mapa degrade.

Como o versus-BR disse, o mesmo utilizou renders para a composição do BG porem você pode fazer o mesmo no seu, basta salvar algumas renders em seu computador e adicionar a seu BG e ir tratando com Fractais/Nébulas/Opitical flares.
